Shingles vaccine! Second one. Five hours later I feel sick. Nausea sick, head feels funny. This is not kind. No reaction at all to the first one.

Gawd, you are having a tough time! 🫂🫂🫂💜
It's better than getting shingles. Shingles is an unbearable pain.
It’s brutal
Ohhh no I'm due my second soon :/
Panadol and water and I feel a little better. It made my blood sugar level soar so I took more insulin as well. But after effects of the second are common. Sorry 😞.
I'll make sure that I've got some panadol handy. Good to hear that you're feeling better :)
I shall report tomorrow. Watching blood glucose like a hawk.
Thanks it'd be good to hear how you are going.
👍
The 2nd one is rugged but then apparently just a taste of the real thing
Exactly.
Not unusual, par for the course. Hang in there.
Went through the same thing. It's worth it. My mom had shingles twice, and my aunt had it 3 times. They suffered big time.
It's better than shingles.
Better than getting shingles, I had 6 weeks of pain
I don’t recall ever having chickenpox! I’m immune compromised so if Dr says it’s safe for me I’m taking it. A few days of feeling blah isn’t unusual for me. 😊
I had 6 spots with chicken pox when I was a kid, got shingles it's worse than giving birth. Worse pain I've ever experienced.
I could have happily died after the first one.
Me too - both of us were rough for a few days. But v glad i got it. Ours was even worse because moron nurse didn't use 2 hypos for shot - u mix via 1 needle, then inject with a fresh one. She's going "Omg, u two have such tough skin!" and we're both trying not to scream cos blunt frigging needles.
Yikes! That’s grim.
We did not go back to that surgery 😂 Didn't realise what she'd done at time, but she gave me insert from one of the boxes, so i could read up on side effects. (Feeling run over by truck wasn't listed, should have been.) So I saw there, 2 parts to shot, and two needles required. She didn't read it.
In the end it’s short term and has lots of benefits.
yes, v glad we got it.
1st one was harder on me. Glad I got it as having shingles is horrible. I THINK I found a way to help my body cope with vaccines better, and maybe if there is a doc reading this they can confirm? Right after a shot I take a good 30 min walk. Seems to help with that funky feeling.
I can’t walk for thirty minutes at the best of times. Thanks though.
Ya this is a known response. Let me be clear, on a scale of 1-10, this experience is a 0.5 compared to an actual shingles outbreak where you can easily hit a 10 and stay there for months. May one be fortunate enough not to break out through the eyes or privates, or a case of disseminated shingles!
My brother had it. I remember. Not nice and it lasted for months.
Let me tell you.. i have had shingles twice! Twice! Once in 8th grade when exposed to active chickenpox. Then in my 50’s. Both times were horrifying! Weeks of pain, oozing rash, fever. I got the vaccines. Very much worth the symptoms of your immune system building resistance.
This happened to me as well. The second shot was rough.
Just got both this summer. Had no reaction except a sore arm both times. My husband also go sick after the second one. I was expecting it. I guess I was just lucky! Hope you feel better soon!
I have had both types of vaccine. Have been thru 16 rounds of shingles so far, after the injections. While it prevents this misery for most people it can cause it in a few, and I am of the few. Now have post herpetic neuralgia, for life. Learned to live with it. Stay strong, you got this.
That is just awful.
I was sick after the first one. Now I’m nervous about the second. Hope you feel better soon.
Both 1&2 got me. I'd rather have a lesser planned discomfort than an unplanned worse discomfort. You got this. It will pass and comfort will find you.
I'm so very sorry. My hubs and I got both last year. No reactions for either of us. Wishing you and others a speedy recovery!
Same for my wife & I two years ago. Sore arm per usual injection site but happy to have it done with. COVID booster and Flu next 9/1.
Mines the same. Sailed through.
Just think of the benefit it gives you though. If you had ever had shingles feeling a bit sick for a few days worth it, My husband spent weeks in hospital with it.
I went back for the second one knowing it would be rough. I’m so sorry about your husband. Scary. Mine breezed through it.
I hear you…same for me but husband had no side affects but for me only lasted a day
A small price to pay for protecting your health though. Good on you.
I didn't have much of a reaction, but my hubby was laid up for a couple of days. It sucks, but it's the best we have to prevent the disease. Hope you are all better.
I’m still blah. Not questioning the need for the vaccine at all. Just it’s been a crappy twelve months and I’m a bit over feeling sub my standard sub par. Paracetamol does seem to help.
Hope the reaction passes quickly. Shingles are awful, so not getting them might be worth the discomfort.
The 2nd shingles vaccine hit me hard, too, but the effects only lasted 24 hours. The site of the vaccine in my upper arm swelled big time, but after I took an anti-inflammatory, the swelling went down. Hang in there. It will get better!
But better tonight. Arm is very sore but sick feeling us passing.
