If you punch someone bc you think they’re a Nazi but then you learn they’re not a Nazi and you just punched someone totally random and innocent, do you owe them an apology? Would it be okay to refuse to apologize?

What if punched someone bc you thought they were a Nazi and then refused to apologize bc if they had called you mister you wouldn’t have thought they were a Nazi, so really it’s my own fault I got punched.
