I’ve been a Teamster for 48 years. To date I’ve collected $656,000 from my pension 👍
That’s amazing! My mother is a fellow teamsters member too I grew up having all the book bags and pencils 😝
I've collected nothing. Previous employer didn't send my check in and Teamsters won't reissue on stale dated check.
🙀
I had a (spineless) bargaining unit for 35 years. But I do get monthly payments from both a pension and my Vanguard account. it helps that the house is paid off now too.
$265,910 so far from my pension.
I’ve been collecting mine for 16 years since 2009. I’m still working as a Teamster school bus driver for $40.43 an hour, plus social security 😉
My daughter’s grandpa was a 30+ year Teamster driving for Boeing. They took real good care of him, including that pension check.
Someone who knows labor laws to stand with you when you’re employer is trying to screw you out of something you deserve and they are legally obligated to give you.
Spot on. With a union you are never alone. Union strong.
Equal pay for equal work, pensions, seniority, severance packages…
Pension and better Medicare! Thank you, USW! Now, we need EVERY person in the US to have it!
Sir, You missed the 40 hr work week that happened at the same time as much of that pushed by #JoeHill and the #IWW. You doing a piece on Mr. Joe Hill would give some hope knowing a labour hero. Kinda needed right now, as it was then. As always, thank you. You are a g-damned national treasure, Sir.
…middle-class lifestyle, …single breadwinner, …community
Union representation, if you’re being oppressed.
All of the reasons that you said are the reasons why I appreciate unions.
Pensions!
they drove many companies out of America
Had a short chat on this site with an anti union goober and she thinks the cost of cars will drop 10k if there were no auto unions. I’m still laughing. Unions give workers security and protection and when consumers are secure they spend more and add to the economy by buying homes, having kids etc
My organiser asked me the other day before a claims meetings why had there been an upsurge in people wanting to join our union all of a sudden. I couldn't speak for the production side of the business, but all it took was for our manager to resign to do it down our end.
Absolutely! Union Strong!
All hallmarks of a robust middle class.
Safety and protection in a workplace, five weeks paid vacation, paid sick and parental leave, fully funded healthcare including dental, mental, vision, $1 for prescriptions, our choice of scheduling work hours, decent pensions and 401k, you name it…
Key point: Instead of resenting union members for having these things, join us and we’ll fight to get them for everyone. It’s hard. The boss will threaten to fire people, and will fire people. But we’re not powerless. We’re stronger when we stand together.
“Injury to one is an injury to all.”
We should remember the history that brought those things to us. It was paid for with a lot of blood 🩸. The labor movement was met with anger and guns. And sometimes on both sides. It took a great president to understand that. We don’t have one now.
I know, I appreciate friends more @rbreich.bsky.social @hwinkler4real.bsky.social @theweekendmsnbc.bsky.social @velshi.com Friends matter
Because unions are socialism in practice
First of all, not really. Second, socialism isn't the Boogeyman the Reich wing makes it out to be.
Workers taking charge is kinda the whole point of socialism I know it's not the same as seizing the means of production By Reich wing you mean liberals too right?
Irony is: If you have a blue collar job, you likely work every weekend. If you have a white collar job, it's common to have weekends off. You're welcome.
Someone doesn't know the difference between blue and white collar jobs. As someone who worked a hybrid version of both, I can tell you that's not true. I was salary and was on call 24/7. As a rule, the military doesn't pay by the hour. I've also worked hourly jobs and a normal week was 40 hours.
No, actually not true. I earned degrees (for which I paid personally) and was white collar for all of my career. It was the norm to work 60-80 hour weeks just to keep my job. We were salary slaves. Maybe not the same in marketing or HR but ask any CPA or attorney and they’ll tell you the same.
The point is hours of work, not who gets weekends off. Or do you think air traffic controllers, law enforcement, nurses, doctors and EMTs, forest service employees, retail workers and the military get the weekend off?
Reliable work force for employers.
I worked for a Union for 15 years! It was wonderful compared to my other jobs! I didn’t mind working hard because I was paid well and always had a voice!
DEBBIE DOWNER SAYS: IF SARA FUCK-A-BEE SANDERS CAN BRING BACK CHILD LABOR- ALL THE RED STATES WILL BRING BACK CHILD LABOR. JUST WAIT!
& in Canada, they provided the impetus for universal, single-payer medical insurance. They founded the New Democratic Party, which forced the Liberal Party, after a half-century of promising universal healthcare, to implement it. The Libs were a minority gov't dependent on the NDP to stay in office.

Long ago, undecided. Good for workers, but sometimes strangled business, making prices higher. Then around 1988, saw docu-drama on PBS about Clarence Darrow, pre-Scopes, fighting for basic worker rights and health. Now I think unions are mostly good, but there are abuses of power.

Equal pay acts…
Republican politicians and republican voters love to bitch about unions, and then kick back and enjoy the many benefits they get because of unions.
This. In the UK you often see the meme 'socialism doesn't work' trotted out by people who enjoyed free education and healthcare, annual leave, maternity leave, paternity leave, workplace legislation to protect employee rights and much more, all campaigned for, and fought for, by Trades Unions.
Union strong! A lot of America's problems are the result of letting the RWNJs destroy your unions.
AMEN!
Equal opportunity for women & men. Seniority😎🖖🏼🇺🇸
In my entire career I did the same work as the men and was paid the same wage, received the same access to benefits. Not all women are so fortunate. Did the unions have to fight to make it so and improve our wages and benefits as the years advanced? Yes they did. Worked in a 24/7 year round job.
It’s the best way to not have a company screw you over as an employee. I believe they have HR. I want Starbucks to unionize. Companies are getting away with horrible pay and horrible work conditions. I’d like to see more unions in the United States. Go Norma Ray!!!
Negotiating power!
It’s ironic to see people still be anti-union despite enjoying the benefits that unions made possible for them. Start paying those people in company certificates that can only be used at the company store and see how they like it.
Bad attitudes. Lackadaisical work effort. Sense of entitlement. Cause prices of goods to increase.
You seem to be bothered by everything, are you alright?
Yes, that happens, but the cost of it is low on the grand scheme of things. Most people want to do a good job. I'd rather 1 or 2 slackers get away with it than a billionaire sticking it to us. Actually, I'd bet over time, the slackers coworkers would though him under the bus.
Overtime pay.
And Epstein files
Can't fire you without just cause.
Protection from Management
I’m a union member. Best decision I’ve ever made after starting my family. Best thing is, the good pay, medical benefits, job placement, and robust pension has allowed me and my family to live a relatively comfortable life. I work hard every day, but thanks to the IBEW, I’m justly compensated.
I'll finish, as a European - Paid maternity leave - Paid paternity leave - Universal healthcare - 36/38-hour workweek - No phonecalls/emails/work during off-hours - Keep CEO pay in moderation (the average in Europe is something like 33x median, I think?) - etc.
Oh, before I forget: mandatory 4/5/6 week paid holiday, paid for by a mandatory 8% reservation on top of your wages.
ps. Keeping CEO pay in check was a Union achievement in Europe, for as far as I remember.
Keeping CEO pay in check seems most critical to me! Our average in top 500 in the U.S. is like 300:1. Absolutely insane. I read that the ideal for economic democracy is like 7:1, but we were once close to that 33:1 like Europe, after FDR. Having more co-ops would help.
Sounds right
Exactly 👍🏻. I worked part of my 30+ years railroad career as a union employee.
Paid maternity leave Paid domestic violence leave 4 weeks paid vacation Higher wages on weekends and public holidays Same job, same pay Industry wide pay rates Right to disengage on own time
Maternity leave (it could be better & add paternity leave)
Canada has it.
👍🏼
Union family healthcare could be better. A lot better.
Absolutely! Check out the following physician led website: www.pnhp.org
Nah. Having children is a choice. Pay for it yourself. And who has to step up when other people are on leave? It isn't the boss.
Says someone who probably can afford the insurance.
• Established the 8-hour workday and 40-hour workweek • Secured minimum wage laws • Advocated workers' compensation laws • Helped create Social Security • Championed civil rights and equal pay • Provided workers collective bargaining for raises and fair conditions • Strengthened the middle class
I'd add: Parental leave (at least for those of us who are union members outside of the US) and collective bargaining. Oh, and tea breaks. 🫖🧐
Some U.S. unions have negotiated paid parental leave into their contracts
Bet it's not up to 12 months though
Definitely not 12 months.
I'm in a union and I get literally none of those things. Still paying dues, though.
I think unions have lost a lot of their power. The ruling class has convinced the working class that unions are bad. And they have also managed to make union leaders part of the ruling class - and so those leaders started to make questionable choices for the people they are supposed to represent.
Yeah unfortunately. I was very upset that I had to pay dues for basically nothing. The initial fee was like $100 and I just straight up didn't pay until we had to do an orientation where they basically told us all they can do is maybe protect us from getting fired.. maybe.
Same here. When I got hired, my contract said I was eligible to join a union. When we had a meeting to create a bargaining unit, they just waffled around for 2 hours. Said they need a president, secretary etc and several people volunteered. And then NOTHING. I paid dues for a while and then stopped.
It sucks. There's really no winning. I don't think I have the option to stop paying. I haven't looked into it. I don't pay much, but it's paying for nothing that really makes me mad cuz I don't think they could protect me anyway with the laws being what they are now.
I just stopped paying. Was pretty sure they won’t sue me. I am 100% pro-union, the whole thing honestly pisses me off. But most people aren’t ready to hold anybody accountable for anything. Or to fight. Unions are only as good as their collective membership.
Pensions
Healthcare and retirement benefits were lost in the 90's. No company pays for medical anymore. Unless you think that 500.00$ monthly premium that has a 5000.00$ spend down in- network, 7000.00$ out- of network is a benefit. Co- pays and prescriptions are extras.
Teamster and love my union. Not so much Sean O Brien but hopefully we can remedy that with a vote out!
If it’s the standard wages of $66 minimum wage existed, we wouldn’t have union. We can cover our own health care without employer’s input.
If you don’t know what a deranged egomaniac looks like…here ya go! “FORCED” every cabinet member to praise him on national TV- and they humiliated themselves and did it! USA you better wake up!! A SICK SICK MIND!!
yes, more of this
40-hour week Job security Home ownership Safe work conditions EAP An advocate in disciplinary situations
Unions can be a force for good, however they too can become greedy and abusive.
A union turns a job into a career. Respect!
Higher cost of goods to all Americans.
Tariffs are a guaranteed higher cost to all Americans. #dumpTrump and his supporters (like you).
They provide the opportunity to earn enough to walk with your head up with pride. The only thing between a living wage and poverty.
All of the above
The power of collective bargaining (vs going it alone).
All of the above!!
In public education districts automatically get COLA (cost of living allowance). Districts don't pass that on to their people unless the union negotiate for it. If the school won't negotiate there are legal channels to force them into it.
Employers used to take advantage of employees but unions got laws passed to protect us!
40 hr week. Overtime pay. My dad was a union man.
THE ABSOLUTE TRUTH !!!! Union Strong 💪🏾
Because you can’t be fired unless there’s Cause !
My appreciation for my teachers' union skyrocketed this morning, when my first retirement check arrived in the mail. Yet another reason why CA rocks. My local union negotiated w/ our district years ago to extend retirees' medical coverage until we're eligible for Medicare. (If it still exists.)
That medical coverage is incredibly valuable. Glad you have that
Thanks, Bill.
The labor unions in Sweden (and Scandinavia) have been instrumental in the development of social benefits, all listed here and more. Nobody has to starve, everybody has the right to proper housing and fair wages. Anybody can study to become a professor. That's what made Scandinavia top notch.
And a great retirement plan!
I know it made a difference to my mom and her parents during the depression. And a whole lot of other people, too.
8 hrs work days 40 hrs work weeks Unemployment Benefit Workers Compensation Laws Family & Medical Leave
Pension so i don't have to work at walmart at age 70.
I here Josy Hawley calling out Boeing CEO for making 30 million, and employees getting 1% raise. Josh is becoming very liberal 🤣
I think it's helping you to tell you that you shouldn't use emojis unless they have merit. I see the joke and it really isn't worth a 🤣 It's not good
A history professor of mine (long ago) made a convincing case to assume that unionization saved the U.S. Essentially Karl Marx was correct that eventually it would come down to capital vs labor and necessarily the latter would take over and the entire nation... unless they discovered unionization.
Fair Work:Worker Ratio
Never worked for a union, but worked for companies that said 'we don't need unions, because we have an open-door policy'. I dared to use it, but no one told me it was the 'you're out next exit'. They looked hard for reasons to fire me, finally got me with the 'we're downsizing' line.
you don't work for a union, it works for you
Meant never worked for a company that had a union.
Worker protections
8 hour shifts. 5 day work weeks.
Pension my dad died in May up until May he received a pension every month he passed at 92
Other than 8 hour day 5 day week Sick pay Paid holidays Penalty rates Minimum wage Long service leave Workplace Health & Safety Awards bargaining Freedom from arbitrary dismissal What has your union ever done for you?
And so much more in Australia, including paid maternity leave & paid penalty rates.
In Aussie, is there paternity leave? Canada has it.
Yes, it has recently been introduced by the Albanese Labor Government.
Paternity leave in the UK too, since 2003 Introduced by a Labour government, of course 🌹
The Liberals wouldn’t want to give paternity leave as it would cost all those rich business owners too much!
When the minimum wage is less than a large cup of Joe at specialty barista, why would you not support Unions?
Ignorance is the only reason I can come up with.
A legally binding contract that defines all aspects of the designated job. No performing jobs you didn’t sign up for.
Maternaty (parental)leave (Canada)
The size of every pay packet, including as a manager.
Unless you work in the service/retail industry…then you get none of that 🤷🏻 Yes…I’m pro-union
No retaliatory demotions or dismissals
Nearly no American workers belong to a union bc they stopped organizing after they made it good. These benefits r thus resented by more exploited workers. The unions failed in the US so badly that they r the only labor force in the West without a real labor/socialist party to represent them in gov.
Born into one, will die in one. Union Data is real, empirical. Try one month without Union Representation all over this ignorant country. Whining, crying, hand wringing. Worse than Susan Collins being concerned.
Salaries
💯💯💯
This is very important for those of us who have not inherited things from our parents like the orange one.
#IBEW #UnionStrong
My husband and I, in our late 70s, have been the beneficiaries of all the above, which were earned after 31 years of factory work and made possible by a union.
Love my union, NALC, @lettercarriers.bsky.social
You are delusional if you think Unions give you weekends off. Only teachers get them off Lots of non- union employers give paid vacations, work breaks, sick leave etc. Unions have childish temper tantrums & go on strike to hurt those affected by their strike. Disgusting!
I make 40% more pay and get health care with my union vs non-union.
If we keep giving those types of things to workers, we will never be able to maintain the 290:1 CEO to worker pay ratio.
Accountants, business owners, doctors and lawyers are all in unions. It makes financial sense. They just call them different names, Chambers of Commerce, the AMA etc
Looks like the Democrats had some success
Because WE ARE ONE more perfect Union included within this Union the Laws of the Union Information of the State of the Union into this Union State in this Union Not a Republic, Democracy NOR a Sovereign Nation as Scotus called us then took a 10th reserved power over immigration gave it to Congress
Unions can be great. But what about the millions of people working for small companies who aren't in a union? That creates a disadvantaged socio-economic class. If unions really cared about others they would reach out to help the disenfranchised. What I see are unions using a system for themselves.
Canada, Europe, and Scandinavian countries has out paced the USA with unions. Union representation are on most corporate boards. Doubt we’ll ever see that happening here.
too much greed in this country
This is the reasons the plutocracy needs to kill them. Giving mere workers a bigger piece of the pie might result in them having to arrive in a smaller jet. How could they show their face at Davos?
💯 open.substack.com/pub/noelkeit...
And those companies are still making money
Yessssss that is right those who have union jobs know this too well. Thanks Robert
Unions are great! They keep greedy corporations in place. Anyone who tells you trickle down economics works.. is full of shit. Social organization like Unions are good for the people and the country. Hence social security..thats the money through ur taxes in retirement. Like it or not its here.
As a member of CFM Local 10-208 in '60s-'70s, I played drums on 2,500 gigs, and other than twice, always got paid. Non-union musicians always got stiffed.
Solidarity feels great.
professor, I'm a chicagoan, so I appreciate unions for the original reasons
Sounds like Canada to me!
We have Labor Day thanks to a union.
Equil pay for equil work regardless of age, gender or race.
It’s one of the beliefs instilled in me by my parents. I was taught to be an activist, to support what I believe in, and that everyone should have the potential to make a decent life for themselves. They were very pro labor and pro education. My mother was a teacher by training.
As a teacher, not being forced to work extra duty without extra pay is pretty nice.Thank you, GUEA.
Equal pay for women and men who are doing the same job. Maternity and paternity leave Salary increases in line with inflation No child labor Work accommodations for people who have different abilities or limitations. Wheelchair accessible Accountability for workplace harassment/abuse.
Thank you for pointing this out.
Oh well forget about maternity leave, they want women out of the workforce completely.
I'm staying in Canada. 😁 Join us.
Can we do that? How open is Canada to immigrants?
We are in a special category, absolutely.
You're lucky. I'm jealous. I'd love to emigrate to Canada. I'd move to Nova Scotia.
If only …
Compared to Canada, the US has virtually no employee protections. Mandated vacation? Unheard of! I'm an American living in Canada and I don't ever see myself moving back.
It’s so depressing that I am not there.
There is literally no protections for ANY American group.
That's inaccurate, there are protections but there are no mandated benefits, other than worker's comp.
Trump has defunded all of them and hollowed them of staff to divert money to his meme, crypto scam, lCE and his Gestapo.
Nonetheless, there are still federal and state level protections. Whether those laws will be enforced is, of course, another thing altogether.
I'd consider it but at 72 I don't have the money. But if I get to come back, I'd love to grow up in the Canadian way.
I hear ya. Same here, about to turn 73. Too late for us.
Thanks for following me I really appreciate it, how are you doing
Great! You are welcome. Please follow me back, l am building a community of followers that are switched on, as we navigate this regime.
I have a friend in Quebec who says the same. It's becoming seriously tempting.
Thank you to teacher’s unions for caps on class size 😁
...scaled pay increases every six months to a year
Representation.
At 41, I was able to get a good UNION JOB with a pension plan. At 70 I retired. I thought I was set. Trump’s Project 2025’ers in office are taking away my Social Security, but they can’t take away my Pension. I will need a job to replace what Trump stole from me. Why pay Social Security?
Unions fought to work a 9 hour day from a 12 hour standard. Yes, they worked friggin hard and fought so we could work a reasonable 8 hour day. 🙏
You're not working fourteen hours a day because six unionists died protesting that shit.
Add Pensions to your list First of every month I praise my union now that I am retired.
Democrats need to start impeachment of rfk jr, Noem, patel and all cronies! I hear earst is not seeking reelection-Iowa senate, lt governor Duncan just flipped to a democrat in Georgia, Collins in Maine has gotten her butt handed to her and is losing badly in the polls! Let’s make this happen people
I would argue the health care part, but fir the most part it is not the unions fault.
I was able to retire at 59 and a half because I belonged to a UNION!
Local 165 retired. 👍
Local 226!
Fair wages. There would be no middle class without them.
That's the list!
Unions actually give workers some leverage in any dispute or difference of opinion - say the setting of wages. No one worker has any negotiating power with a powerful employer. One can think their unique skill/talent protects them, but not for long. The only power one has is to quit. Employers can
Lose a single employee or a few, but they can rarely survive a long work stoppage if a large group of employees walk out. Companies “hate” unions because they want everything based on their terms. TMany get all excited about the idea of eliminating their workforces completely. Hence all the 3)
3) excitement about automation and AI. They just cannot fathom that investing in human capital can lead to far greater productivity and profitability long term because humans have the ability to create and adapt. Any machine, including AI, gives repetitive results without human brainpower involved
AI doesn’t “think,” doesn’t “process” it is superior at organizing data or inputs but it has no way to decide the relative importance or to connect two disparate tactless ie turn 1+1 into 3 or more. It is tied to whatever info has been used to “teach” it. That I think is its main weakness. It has
Been trained on a model of how the brain processes information that is only theoretical. Only now is advanced technology providing insights, often contradictory, about how the brain works.
And this is just america, look at europe what unions managed there.
As a third-generation union family, all of the above! Abd, a place at the decision-making table.
'weekend' as a concept; that there should be rest. 8 hour work day
Because it looks as if they might be the only ones willing to actually fight for our rights and I'm wondering if we'll be seeing a new political party; The American Union Party. I've never been in a union but I'd definitely vote for any party willing to actually fight.
Non-union workers have enjoyed the benefits that union workers have fought for.
Non Union workers lose those rights very quickly when they are not in a union.
No weekends off for this business which makes luxury interiors for private jets: primadonnalux.com
Decent pay
Unions make everyone stronger.
* Professional negotiator on MY side to go up against the pro's on the employer side. (I have strong skills in other areas, I suck at asking for good wages and benefits.)
Unions are a good thing. I don't get raises every year, I get bullied and they don't care, I get the job done. They don't care
I believe the list includes a 5 day work week, (instead of 6 days).
When you are working a union gig you have a CONTRACT that defines the responsibilities, hours, compensation - a CONTRACT negotiated by professionals, and enforced by a Business Agent and President of your local. You have a CONTRACT, just like the CEO of the company, although the terms are different!
📌
They’re great spaces to learn about building community, organizing movements, outreach programs, & other essential components of a functioning democracy. Unions are to me an indispensable part of the dream of democracy, bc they offer us a space to practice & enact democracy at a most intimate level
This Labor Day I’d like to invite every billionaire to ponder upon the fact that we established labor strikes as an alternative to dragging the boss out of his home and beating him to death on his lawn in front of his family.
40 hr work week 40 hrs work = 40 hrs pay
Fair treatment (when it works for its members) Protection from different kinds of workplace abuse The right to strike ...and more (Proud granddaughter of a blacklisted union organizer here)
RESPECT given when prior employees were treated like cattle
Opening skilled trades jobs to women Supporting equal pay for equal work.
Unions are the reason we have a middle class.
The only classes are the capitalist class and the working class.
PAID MATERNITY LEAVE
Fair firing guidelines. Have seen many people get fired for pissing off the wrong person.
Awesome pension!
Standing with "David" against "Goliath"
I'm grateful to CWA & USWA!
Great 401k match insuring a comfortable retirement.
In construction the benefit to being a union company was all the PLA agreements for union only work. PLA’s are becoming rare so now all non union companies can bid on public jobs and pay prevailing wage then go back to paying shit wages for private jobs whereas union companies can’t compete
Which leaves the union companies scrambling for work with their hands tied. Union representatives need to start doing their fucking jobs and securing PLA jobs instead of sitting on their ass riding the coattails of the workers. Union representatives have gotten fucking lazy
I love unions for all those reasons and because Unions defend us against bad administrators who try their best to thwart your work.
I'd vote for you if you ran, Robert! We can all dream.
You forgot one: paid apprenticeship
Yes, most of the time, but not for teachers, sadly.
For most of my working life, I've never known the benefits of a union. Then again, I guess you can't defend the nation when you're on your coffee break
Chicago Teachers Union is extremely powerful and can be helpful. A coworker needed to pump milk daily for her baby, and the principal told her to use an unsanitary bathroom stall. One call to her union rep, and the principal quickly found a clean, private room for her to use and apologized.
That's a more educational vocation requiring credentials that unions can't give. Teachers deserve way more pay than what they've been historically getting. Aside from teaching, unions teach you a trade and skills without incurring college debt.
Yes, but college professors also have a union, so the costs/wages could be covered for teachers as well. Student teacher's costs/ fees are higher, but wages are lower than for most union workers. Our lawmakers/unions could do more for educators. Biden tried. McConnell's Congress said no.
Well at least you know who to blame. As it is, if we didn't control both the house and Senate during Biden's first two years, the pact act would never have made it.
Job security.
Higher pay & collective bargaining power! 💪
“Don’t wait until freedom is gone to regret its loss. FREEDOM isn’t GOD-GIVEN; it is FOUGHT for by the PEOPLE”

Where the hell are the unions right now? It’s just crickets from them. Where are the Teamsters and the other big national unions? These policy are hurting their people.
The teamsters general president backed trump. So you have that for a reason.
8-hour days
Congress already has all this.
A needed check on cronyism (making mgmt follow their own rules for everyone) Agency for workers to have input into workplace changes Ensuring proper and timely training of new people/software/equipment Flexible work schedules
Welcome to the 2nd American Civil War brought to you by the corrupt SCOTUS & GOP cowards. The 4th Reich would appreciate all Americans to be true patriots and civilly cooperate with your imprisonment and enslaved labor to the oligarchy.
No child labor, good working conditions, healthcare benefits, good wages, holidays off and support if something happens to you on the job....
Good pay and over-time
Why don’t the rich employers like them … because they have been made to do these things which cost them money. The same way Trump is trying to run the country … cut back on or eliminate as many taxpayer funded benefits that they can receive … back to the dark ages.
Best EVER!!
There are people in this country who think Labor Day was created to signify the last day of summer? What Republican nonsense are they teaching now?
They also think memorial day is about picnics, parties, beach and fireworks
I was paid closer to what my work was worth.
Better Pay and overtime
My pension
This one’s for the idiot Union guys whom vote Republican. You know who you are. Hang your heads in shame.
I was 18. Showed up to work. There were people outside with signs. I went in. Came out after my shift to find my tires slashed and ‘scab’ painted on my car. Union workers gained 3 cents in their paycheck. Because of a union.
Throw on top of all the employee benefits it's also often a cheap management solution for businesses as employee complaints and concerns are often consolidated and then reported to the company by 1 person, making the whole process faster, more efficient, and often less expensive for the company.
These are hard-won gains that Trump’s war on unions is intended to curtail, if not eliminate. Anything to sustain the upward flow of wealth from the working/middle class to his billionaire puppeteers.
We are the only ones standing between Managmemt and our members!
