A side effect of having spent multiple years with negative net worth is that I check my bank balance at least daily, sometimes more than once a day, even when I have no reason to expect it will have changed. Why yes, I do have anxiety, why do you ask?

My version of this is manually entering yesterday’s transactions into YNAB every morning It doesn’t matter how much cash is stacked in the accounts—part of my brain is always checking for the overdraft fee that’s going to keep me from affording gas at the pump

I check my bank balances, credit card balances, and investment portfolio balances several times a day. A leftover habit from when rent, day care bills, and utilities would hit at the beginning of the month.

Hard same. I keep trying to tell myself that I’m a lot more responsible and well versed with financial literacy, but anxiety says “girl, nevuhhh”.
