I take it as a former Submariner, you didn't see much 'bridge duty' 🤓🤣
I did NOT. Radiomen were usually all hands in the Radioshack while surfaced. I went up in the bridge while going to sea maybe twice? Some dudes were up there all the time, though.
😱😱😱 I am claustrophobic as hell. I’d be the person that goes crazy in the horror movie “Submarine Zombie”
😂 It's like being in the biggest RV you've ever been in... without windows.
😂
Back in the 80's I was one of the lucky few to be able to tour a nuclear sub during Fleet Week in S.F. You just needed your D.L. to prove Citizenship back then.(Right after us, they decided it prob.wasn't a good idea, & didn't do any more tours) Very cool! Even got to look through the periscope 😄
That's very cool. You don't happen to recall the boat name, do you?
It was the Henry Jackson SSBN730
That's a very cool boat!!!
It was! They also took us out around the bay at full speed on their river rat boats. THAT was fun. Had to sign your life away & hang on for dear life, lol. Ahhh ...the good ole days!
That's fantastic. They don't seem to do anything like that stuff anymore.
I have it somewhere- I bought a hat I think, lol I'll get back to you on that.
Ahhh...
😂 Pretty much
And usually jam them into my eyes and/or hit them in my nose - literally minor injuries by binoculars… How is that even possible? Haven’t lost any teeth yet luckily
They can be vindictive, I’ve found.
😂
I yam howling at this. We gotta be related.
😂😂😂
Welp, you’ll know yourself very intimately
Good point
