When I had to go through these hoops, I had my birth certificate and divorce decree, but didn’t have my marriage certificate. They wouldn’t take just the divorce decree, I had to buy a new copy of the marriage certificate. I’d love to know how one could get a divorce without being married. 🙄
Same for me. I had to harass some poor county clerk to dust off the card catalog & find mine 😂
I called the courthouse in her home town and had two marriage certificates sent. One from 1962 and another from 1970. She is nearly deaf now and cannot talk on the phone. There is simply no way she could have done it herself.

Ditto. Same exact scenario. And the mail requirement? I live in a rural area where delivery is exclusively PO Boxes. And PO Box addresses are not accepted. Even my property tax bill is addressed to a PO Box so it wasn't valid in establishing residency. The whole process was a mess.
OMG, I had to provide proof of residence that had MY name on it & not my husbands. Two documents. I took a medical bill & they said that wasn’t valid as ID. 😡 I’m beginning to sense my deep seated feminist anger 😂

Holy cow. And so many Native Americans only have a PO Box mailing address, too. This is going to disenfranchise a LOT of Americans. Which is the intended purpose of it, I’m sure. 😡
