Canada won't recognize a Palestinian state without conditions but we recognize Israel, Russia, ... Seems a bit f-ed up that we recognize a country doing a genocide but not a country composed of the people being killed off. Disappointing but not surprising.

Hope deflated. Performative bullshit it is. Abbas doesn't control Hamas and they won't do what is demanded. Seems like an impossible demand on 🇨🇦's part to include Hamas in requirements. The solution to terrorism begins with the education of children and the empowerment of women, not military action.

Canada has an unwavering commitment to Israel's existence and right to self defence but Palestine has to meet a bunch of conditions to even be recognized as a state? In case there was any doubt that the 2-state solution Western nations want has nothing to do with the rights & security of Palestine.

Israel can starve millions of Palestinians in an open air prison, bomb civilians, shoot them at humanitarian aid camps, commit heinous war crimes, establish illegal settlements in the West Bank - and it's just totally chill, thats the self defence they're entitled to.
