I’m from Montreal, I live in Spain, and visited Calgary & Edmonton many years ago. If Alberta separates from Canada, what happens to the Oilers & Flames? 🤷♂️ They would need “Albertan” passports and treaties would be required for travel and work purposes to Canada, the U.S. & elsewhere.
There will be no separation. We don’t have land to separate on. The land was never ceded from indigenous peoples and they have the right to the land.
Hence, the “if…” in my original post. Oilers/Flames, Indigenous peoples, currency, national parks, roads & jobs, requiring trade deals, etc… All reasons that need to be considered and addressed IF Albertans wish to separate. I’m sure there are many more.
