We are happy with him because he is an intelligent, experienced leader, and arguably the best economist on the planet at a time when we face an economic crisis not of our making. The Cons have no one to compete especially with their outdated anti-science idiocy to run on.

Yeah, no. Lots of people want a more left-leaning leader... especially those that lent votes from the NDP. Too many are unhappy that he is more centrist than usual Liberal leaders. A Conservative that is slightly more centrist and more policy-driven (rather than drivel-driven) will siphon support

...ideology test, virtually the entire class saw was that voting Liberal best support their values and beliefs. All the PCs at the time were voting against their values. About half the NDP were. So, no, nothing to do with him being centrist. All that matters is he knows how to handle a bully.
