I’m always trying to improve my knitting, and you are obviously a master knitter. What about the shawl made you give it a ‘d’? Since I’m selling it (for charity), I need to make it as professional as possible.
😄 nooo, this is A+ shawl The stitch it’s beautiful That’s impossible to make by me now, I recently was diagnosed with carpal tunnel in my left hand for my July season Class I just teach beginners, that I can do, I can crochet and knit slowly without putting to my pressure on my left hand.
Mine blamed bilat CTS on crocheting. I blame life in general, as it is nothing but repetitive motion. After bilat surgery, there is no longer numbness, but there is still so much I can no longer do. Gave away the stash of yarn & needles. It was a hard habit to give up.
People told me not to have surgery. I was thinking in donating my yarn too. I need both hands , now I’m using my right hand more I now soon or later it will hurt too.
The woman who cuts my dogs’ hair had both of her hand operated on and she was back to full-time grooming in just a month. Might be worth checking out with a couple of surgeons.
Oh wow ! I know 2 people who did it and both said still hurts. My Doctor recommended as a last resort. I just got the diagnosis and started the treatment, meanwhile I will do some research on my own. Thank you girls ! 🙋🏻♀️🌳🌈 take care .
Mine was identified right before covid, so nothing was done until that settled. Sent for testing (possibly the worst part),identified it as stage #4. I had swelling & pain weeks post-surgery, had a steroid in 1 hand, skipped out of office. I've lost muscle strength in both hands, -more
there is still a lot I can't do; if it requires gripping, pinching, fine motor skills, using scissors, even pulling the slide on a pistol to charge it is beyond my ability. I've had to find ways to compensate, whether by devices, modification,or asking for help. -more
I use a stylus for typing,a gripper to open jars, use scissors to snip produce in the garden, & have learned to use my forearms to lift, hold, etc. I wear latex-free gloves while working in garden or cleaning, bc they make your hands sweat like crazy, reducing swelling. -more .
Some only stage 1-3,others add 4 & 5 to include muscle weakness and atrophy at the base of the thumb. Advice from a stranger? Don't wait for those last stages. I still have pain in base of thumb, & I'm 3 yrs post-surgery. 😉
I have less numbness than before but still some. I cannot pressure down my thumb and also cannot curve like before.
It’s stiff , that’s the best way to describe it.
I’m so sorry to hear about your carpal tunnel! That can be so painful and difficult to deal with. I hope you can get it fixed and get back to normal. Best of luck to you 🍀
Thank you! I’m following Doctor’s orders , I’m positive. Hoping for the best 👍🏼 I have so much yarn ! Too much temptation 😂😂😂
