I agree with this! But the socialization must be democratic and not controlled by the army, and that's usually where the trouble starts with communism. The people who fought and won the revolution tend to disagree with the military leaders who now control the wealth that has been seized
I'm not sure how much your assertion is borne out historically, but again this where the importance of structures that link-up the leadership and the popular masses shines through. Cuz there will be a leadership. And you can't get around the guns question. No revolution is possible without them
