it's obviously possible to overdo it (like anything) but basically, the idea of a perpetually renewed cultural life in America is huge

Yeah I think the "immigrants do the jobs Americans won't do" stuff is genuinely objectionable, if possibly good politics, but highlighting the enormous benefits of immigration to all of us isn't the same thing.
