Good call. Not sure how I missed that. Though I think Brasi still would be considered a villain.

Within the storytelling of The Godfather and the way it romanticizes the mafia, Luca Brasi is violent and dangerous and even a baby killer but he’s not a “villain” because he’s aligned with the story’s protagonists. In real life they’d ALL be villains though.
