Most politics is local, in the US and anywhere in the world. So it was probably less "masked thugs in our cities" and more "tariffs and inflation are fucking with our livelihoods."

Rural communities are really at risk with medicaid cuts - lots of OBG deserts in Iowa. And school vouchers are useless to rural communities but take funds from their schools.
