The craziest thing to me is splitting lanes on a busy freeway. They already know they are difficult to see and car drivers aren’t expecting anything to be in between them and the cars in the next lane over. It is like, “how can I make this even more dangerous”
at least harleys are loud as shit (even for hermetically sealed cars), I can't believe it when I see people *hauling* on the highway on sport bikes, like you're gonna be dead before your dopplered sound even catches up if someone changes lanes
i don't think I'd even take a motorcycle on a three+ lane expressway, I'd mostly want it for back roads and to go to the beach
It's just getting to those roads that's your risk. surface streets are where the left turners are
right but at least you're not going as fast. putting thousands of miles a year on a road bike does have me pretty highly attuned to drivers lol.

Personally, I don't think motorcycles should be allowed on the highways or freeways. Other vehicles have a ton of regulations and safety features. Motorcyclists have a helmet.
The thing is it isnt the motorcycle, they have a lot more safety built in to them than you'd think. You can fall at incredible speed with gear on and walk away. Its the sudden stopping that kills you. Cars turning left in front of you. Thats what kills you.
ya, 100%, I don't understand how they trust theses drivers that much. When I see a bike creeping up the lanes, I'll get as far over as possible making it very clear that I see them and giving them space. Most wave as a thank you
Just going to butt into this convo; but I get a weird feeling of happiness when I get a "wave" from a motorcyclist for moving over. Thats all....Ill go back to my hole now.
