I think it’s extraordinary what is happening in your country. From here it appears not only is Trump’s behaviour rationalised, it seems to be normalised! Unbelievable! Whatever happened to your press?

A large portion of our press is owned by billionaires who want to do businesses with our federal government. They aren't going to allow bad stories about Trump to get published because T will get even with them. Disgusting.
And they all rollover to him! They don’t seem to have any shame. It’s almost like North Korea. Thank goodness I don’t live there.
That is telling us their writers are not creative or good enough to meet these times. They certainly did not have #JournalismDerangementSyndrome when they were reporting on Biden & Harris.
Aside from MSNBC, every single television news org is cowering in fear that Donald Trump might say mean things about them. Think about that. Donald Trump is the most easily fact-checked President in history, yet these “journalists” stand down. They are the ones that allowed our republic to fall.
Although I think its more a fear of retribution from him from the govt.
Complicity is destroying our country.
I live here, and I'm pissed everyday they normalize his behavior, but then you remember they have been dumbing down our population for decades and it's really about making money not informing people. There are like 5 people that control most of our "news"
It’s not “news” because the NEWS PEOPLE aren’t treating it as such anymore, or are afraid to, or see tangible benefit to ignoring/legitimizing it (eg WaPo). Either way these are all actual decisions being consciously made - every day- in newsrooms around the country.
The fact that the media shrugged and said virtually nothing about 🍊💩🤡 saying TWICE that he was going to Russia (he is going to Alaska, which, as of now, is still in the United States), and then asking a mealy mouthed question about it and accepting the answer of 'well maybe he will go to Russia'...🤯
They rationalize it to try and avoid the claim of bias.
how about this main-stream media: YES IT IS DO YOUR FRIKKEN JOB
As soon as he appears on the screen, it is an instant click for me cannot stomach him. No desire to hear anything he has to say.
He is #HowAmericaFell
Insanity is the new normal for president. Headline media matches this position.
I am pounding on the Epstein files! It is a distraction to a coverup - 1) Mike Johnson sends our reps home early 2) Personal attorney meets with Epstein’s co-conspirator 3) Soon after meeting the co-conspirator is transferred to Club Fed 4) ALLEGED witness tampering by US AG Pammy Jo Bondi
The destructive charming sociopathic lying NARC (and those who got the dark TRIAD) - they know the real loss of hope. Appreciate his speaking out. The cost is real, and hopefully not sunk - for the nation's sake. zeteo.com/p/the-medias... #J6
I am soooooo sick of Trump, of him all over, all the time….killing everything on TV on radio….can no longer stand the sight of him or the sound of his voice…..I mute the sound on whatever platform he is on and change the channel on the tv…..I guess this is what living in North Korea must be like
I feel the same way. It’s so exhausting; I wish he would just die.
🤞
I’m thinking people are sick and tired of him in our faces every single day, the more Americans see and hear from that evil deranged nutcase the more his popularity drops.
I think that answer that it's combo of fear + favor is good, in regard to why headlines/media struggles to cover trump honestly, but it's also a third problem that many don't want to recognize. Not just CEOs, but even editors and journos like Trump. They sincerely do. It needs to be reckoned with.
Michelle Wolfe nailed the media, including liberal media, right to the wall. They love Trump. He saved them.
Meh. The incentive, pay, and promotion structure leans towards making the boss happy. And the news industry is mostly owned by right wingers. So, the workers know that's how to get ahead. p.s. "Liberal media" is a talking point created in Republican think tanks. Not a credible term.
More like co-opted and subverted by rightwing think tanks. It's an accurate, value-neutral term for certain outlets. Some even self describe as such.
As for the get-ahead incentive, that doesn't contradict what I said, in a functional sense.
