It’s so pervasive. Every aspect of American life has the possibility of a mass shooting. It’s in the back of my mind when my grown kids go out on the town. We send “I love you” texts knowing it could be the last text.

Bloody hell, that's no way to live. I worry about my kids (21 and 19) getting too drunk, breaking up with their girlfriends, having enough money to have fun at uni. I do NOT worry about them getting shot, at any time. We had one school shooting here in the UK and that was one too meny

This. Especially for Pride events, movies the alt right doesn’t like, parades. One time I was at a kids’ sing along show and found myself looking around like “we’re just sitting ducks here.”
