Thanks for your considered replies. The first line in your 2nd one was me, 20-21 - sceptical, but willing to try. For me, his 1st betrayal was FoM - I saw what he was then. As for history, I think (hope...) it'll damn him for, at v best, deliberately ignoring a genocide; at worst, complicit in it...

I voted for Starmer in the leadership contest, but only because I thought Long-Bailey would condemn us too another eternity of Tory rule, as she would be even more unelectable than Corbyn. So I feel partly to blame. He’s better than the Tories but a deep disappointment is the best I can muster.

My cynical view of Corbyn anointing Long-Bailey as his preferred successor is that like all vain men he wanted his successor to fail badly so that he would be seen in a better light.
