Six months old today, and Ozzy's blood tests are looking good. It's amazing he is doing so well - only three years ago he wouldn't have survived FIP.

Oh we had a cat who developed FIP at 3 It's wonderful to hear that it's something that with better treatment options now.

So happy to read this. We lost our beautiful 8 month old boy Dylan to FIP a few years ago when this treatment wasn’t available. Lovely to know it’s no longer a death sentence

That’s brilliant - well done Ozzy. Ours took one look at the meat putty and we did the 3 months with a tablet dispenser.

Out of interest, were you able to obtain treatment conventionally through the vet? As for a time this treatment was known and it worked but you could not get it except through some quite dubious grey market routes, often at considerable expense. Has that been sorted?

There's a superb veterinary hospital in Swindon called Eastcott where they specialise in treating FIP. He was referred there, and they still supervise his treatment. He's on remdesivir.

Yes - definitely regularised. We are incredibly grateful to our local Oxford vet in Iffley Road, who diagnosed him and made an urgent referral.

My impression is that there are a few centres in the UK with the relevant expertise. Other vets refer to them.

Go Ozzy! Keep it up little chap. Hope he’s fed the best food - sure he is. My old cat (lived to 21 human years) particularly enjoyed roast dinner with all the trimmings (& I mean all). Stood on the chair & I swear if she could have picked up a knife & fork she would have done so!
