We ran the frictionless-global-village experiment and it had some real upsides but also some pretty serious unanticipated downsides Personally I was in hindsight much too utopian about how well it would go

Sensationalist news is the problem! Grocery stores creating food deserts are the problem! Politicians focusing on culture war instead of real stuff are the problem! I think in general demand as the problem is underrated. Doesn't mean we should focus on demand-side interventions, which seem hopeless
