I always thought the “two weeks” thing was because that’s how long the goldfish memory of MAGA (and the media for that matter) takes to forget he said it.

Two weeks is a political strategy. Within the course of 2 weeks they news cycle changes multiple times. They are just betting that we will have forgotten by then.
