I see this ending only one of two ways. 1 - he dies or ends up non-functional. 2 - he pulls through whatever this is, pops back up in public, and we’ll all be expected just to forget this week ever happened.

Either he dies or is nonfunctional and, either way, he's replaced by one of his stand ins. The Lookalike will be better looking and Melania will publicly "tease" him about his cosmetic surgery.
