I must be the only person in the world who loves that sound. Then again, I also love the smell of diesel. Make of it what you will 🤣

Our press ganged cabin boy with no previous experience of sailing is a teacher with a PhD in music... So we're having fun with noises!
Three men in a boat and one a doctor of music. What could possibly go wrong? He'll have you farting Spanish Ladies as you sail past that green arch into A Coruña...
There's a very complicated story as to why we have been let loose on this boat, but it all starts with music. And Ealing. Brother, skipper, is a professional fartist at the Spanish ladies Or flautist?
There is a huge joy to be derived from teaching simple skills like knots and line throwing whilst learning new understanding of music.
Navigation, storm management, weather and "wtf" repairs are my thing. I'm awful at ropework. As far as I'm concerned, nobody needs to know more than a bowline, rolling hitch, reblinka (I don't know the English word for fender knot) and, oddly, Carrick bend :)
Wtf is a Carrick bend? I know bowline, clove hitch, round turn and two half hitches and prussic loop from climbing days. And sheet bend. And reef. Pretty much a bdsm pro?
A Carrick bend is fantastic for joining lines if you pull it tight, and decorative if you leave it loose and manipulate it. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carrick... I should learn the prussic loop as I'm up masts quite a lot, and my approach is frankly suicidal - one hand, one foot - clip on if you can...
Looks very pretty - but surely a sheet bend performs the same function? Meanwhile, I have invented the Biscay melon knot..
You're going to make a fucking fortune on Only Fans 🤣
You have to find a use for those poor leftover bits of line. It's like Battersea dogs home rehoming
Hola and hello to you Spanish ladies, Hola and hello, you ladies of Spain, Those bowsprits you tended and polished and rubbed down Are heading back south to your ports once again..
