Yeah, gooners aren't addicts. And liking raceplay doesn't necessarily make you racist. However, it wouldn't exist in a non-racist society. And similarly, the existence of gooners is a symptom of deeper societal discomfort with our relationship to media. 1/

We don't feel in control of our media diets, so we fetishize that helplessness. I'm not saying these people are bad. I'm saying they're a symptom of something. (And some of them are weird to be around.) 2/2
