4 of us were up from Essex on a walking holiday and having a bag of chips. Some local lads approached us and said hello. We said hello. One said: Are you ‘Merican? Me: Haha, yes. Him: What part of ‘Merica you from then? Me: Er. … we’re from Essex. Him: Why do you say you were from Merica then?
