What with the college hijacking the city council and running off dedicated city employees with campaigns of lies and vitriol, not to mention no real effort to make up for the fact that they, being a non-profit educational institution, don't pay any property taxes despite being the largest landowner.
And look, if students are volunteering at the hospital, great. If they're volunteering at, say, Community Action Agency, great. If they're volunteering at one of the local food pantries, great.
But for a college with over 2,000 students in a city of 8,000, being ranked #2 in community service in the entire country? I'm just not seeing them out there. And between my health issues and financial situation, I'm in a position to see them out there if they were.
