With how fast players currently break, I'm not sure there is enough healthy talent to staff 210+ pro teams.
There is. Other rules would have to change though.
I don't want baseball to be the NHL where there aren't enough players to warrant the mandated player salaries and minimum spend so mediocre players get paid big $$ and see ice time. Walks are plentiful and K's are still way way up. I don't need more bad baseball games.
Contraction won’t change the balls in play problem. Probably would make it worse. Rule changes are needed.
Contraction puts more available athletes to every franchise.
And if pitching is stronger than hitting than we will have more 1-0 games with 15 strikeouts on each side.
The talent deficit and the injury problem are on both sides of the plate. Hence the need for contraction.
