Respectfully: no they don't. There are plenty of honest politicians. One of the distressing things about cases like these (and others, such as Johnson's many lies as prime minister) is that it creates a narrative of all politicians being liars.

Thanks for clarifying. I thought your point was more general. My motto has long been "never trust a Tory" and I have little liking at all for Tory politicians. That said, I've encountered some local Tory councillors who are at least partially motivated by public service.

Ahree with you 100% and was a fan of the likes of Heseltine, Clarke and Grieve when the Tories were struggling with Johnson.
