I wouldn't call it a garbage comment and dismiss the point being made. We have to face the reality that we are in. America is not as progressive of a country as we thought as evidenced by the last election. We need a candidate that will stand a chance in the next election. Is he it?

So white supremacists are OK but not gays. I refuse to just "accept" that. It lets the bigots off the hook. You don't win by surrendering.

No, they're not ok and will never be ok. We're not surrendering. We are having a discussion on how we proceed and I just don't know where we go from here. I feel defeated and I thought we as a country had progressed, but this last election showed just how backwards everything is.

Imagine if this had been the narrative in 2008, we never would've had Obama. Plenty of good reasons to prefer another candidate over this one, but "He's gay" is not one of them. Pete is a great communicator and even has the "right skin color" but y'all wanna proactively surrender because he's gay.

Personally I'd prefer Pritzker but the electability comments are lame and cowardly.

I agree, but a commentary on a potential reaction is not surrendering. I have hopeful optimism that it doesn't matter but realistic understanding that it matters to many.
