Increasingly I am the guy who's known. I don't mind but it takes a full 24 hours to get home and help my Elders. 3 hours to get back to adoptive family & friends. And they know I'm retiring this year and will have nothing but free time. They're circling, like wolves to a deer on a frozen lake 😄
Run. Run fast. Don’t leave a forwarding address. My best friend is married to a retired firefighter and electrician. He has helped EVERYONE we know, but she would be standing in the dark at her own house. He’s a great person, but too many people take advantage. He doesn’t know how to say NO. 😜☮️

She was alone for 25 years on every major holiday and every birthday too. The poor guy was also there on 9/11. He lost 18 friends.
They’re always the ones who help everyone while their wives, girlfriends, significant others wait patiently at home with the lights out, roof leaking etc.
