Yes. Of course. But Trump thinks Brazil is paying the tariffs, so that’s why the tariffs are so high. There’s a reason that one of his professors at the Wharton School called him "one of the dumbest students he ever had."

It will still hurt Brazil’s economy if we pay higher tariffs on Brazilian imports because the US will source imports like coffee, sugar, and bananas from countries with the lower tariffs instead.

Ok so I didn’t know that the main products that the US imports from Brazil are in fact in heavy industries that we directly compete with: petroleum products, nuclear reactors, machinery, steel, aerospace, etc. While most agricultural goods (minus coffee), such as meat, sugar, and produce are lower.
