Idk; it certainly isn't the most aesthetically flattering photo - but showcasing a $65 Casio A700WM-7AVT does nothing if not burnish working-class cred - particularly in contrast to the Omegas & Pateks seen on the wrists of other politicians 🤷🏼‍♂️

And also, to be clear, I like his policies and his style of politics.

I think what freaks out the Mamdani haters is 1) he is not "white" but hard to fit into another ethnic group 2) naturally likeable 3) young and energetic 4) not obviously beholden to special interests and way down the list is his political views.

He is hard to define and therefore hard to demean. None of the usual lazy insults or slurs fits or sticks. It enrages MAGA and the usual NY politicos
