Cracking day for it, as United take on the Champions, by far the best team in the League last season. You can get after them, but that ain’t easy, big challenge ahead. Very much looking forward to seeing my lot again, a small squad jaded by May, but they’ve certainly tried to address that this year.

Be interesting to see how we play. Good footballers with another year of knowing each other’s games with several additions, all of which I thought were excellent pickups. In Elanga and Ramsey there’s two lads that have the wherewithal to step up to another level, but can do they do that?
So, aye, on the face of it, despite crowing elsewhere about missed targets, United are a Callum Wilson replacement from, what looks like, a fairly good recruitment campaign. We had an excellent first eleven last year but they had no real backup. Alas, that’s now only part of the story, as we know.
No doubt the usual ups and downs lie ahead, and we clearly need goals from somewhere, but the raw materials are there for some fun across 25/26. I’d like to see things resolved with Isak, but I’ll be far happier getting away from the horribly toxic 24/7 transfer ‘content’ that seems everywhere now.
Being able to focus on the football and not having to see Romano's face or hear his voice for 4 months is going to be bliss.
It’s a fucking poison and way out of control, now. I see safeguarding issues ahead, not least because some of these moves are the wrong ones for the young lads involved.
I know it’s been draining from an NUFC perspective this summer, but I also see fans of other clubs (Spurs, West Ham, Wolves, Brentford) sucked into what now feels like a sport in itself; the transfer saga played out via multiple media channels. Never known it as bad. Let’s just watch the games, eh?
