Very good catch and a great question. Although the bottom two stations have been bought by right wing billionaires recently, historically they’re simply the two Spanish channels. The low education levels only reflect the fact that 1st/2nd generation migrants are 1st World newbies.
Assuming this is Spanish-language output from/for Latin-American nationals & U.S.-descendent Diasporas (not Español / Castillan output from Spain), this is the context I needed. With less access to loans or familial wealth, a decision to incur educational debt, despite aptitude, isn't taken lightly.
