Here’s what’s wrong with your statement. If you watch the clip he basically says Canada is a meth/fentanyl lab and Toronto is the hub. Of course Toronto has a drug problem, but it is nothing compared to the cities I’ve mentioned in the US. Not even close. Your statement normalizes his statement.

I’m not normalizing his statement but to suggest that drugs aren’t an issue in Toronto, that you can walk around and won’t see it, is wrong. His statement is idiotic

Never said it wasn’t an issue. Of course it is. But again, I have American family and I have spent a fair amount of time in most American major cities. Believe me, it is not comparable.1/2

So it’s ok to say we have a problem, but not in the context of when an American politician is spreading propaganda. They are normalizing this nonsense to justify their next move. We cannot help them in any way.

I agree. It’s fair to say that their views on the border and Canada having fentanyl labs are bogus. And fentanyl is coming into Canada from the US. But I suspect drug use is growing in Toronto, as is homelessness.

I was responding to the notion that if you walk around TO you won’t see drug issues. I live in TO. I also said the US is worse. I know people in TO who have died from fentanyl
