I don't think you can fight crime scare panics with stats, we need attractive young families showing how nice living a city is in short form videos instead.

I would love to see democrats become the "city defense league" and abandon agreeing with conservatives that rural people are the "real americans". Dems should defend out strongholds in exactly the same way republicans defend theirs
Eff, I think you are right.
I read "families" as "females" at first, which is hilarious and maybe also the solution?
we have that on tiktok but people won’t use it
Sadly yes.
a big chunk of Zohran Mamdani's campaign ads were exactly this. "Wow, New York City is so cool and vibrant and has so many cool and vibrant people living in it."
We need Tony P to settle down and meet a nice girl in Petworth.
extra points if the family says something like “the local teens always leave us alone because we don’t owe them any crypto”
Yup bsky.app/profile/john...
I think this is a big part of why the Zohran videos have been so successful. They're just people, being happy, in the city he wants to be mayor of. It's crazy that concept is such a departure from most campaign ads.
And talking about what a bunch of wimpy losers the people avoiding cities are.
But that’s not how Toby Ziegler and Sam Seaborn would’ve did it, so you’re clearly wrong…
everyone could use a dose of the urban parent algorithm, which is mostly cool playgrounds/cafe’s/breweries to bring your kids to in The Big City
They came to their fears emotionally. They’re not going to get out of them logically.
This is a combination of people believing what they want to believe/too many lies flooding the zone for too long. There really isn’t anything we can do except cutting off the lies when and where we can and waiting.
I’ve thought long and hard about this and the only clear solution I can come up with for how to deal with all the lies is to make life hell for the liars as much as possible.
I never paid attention to playgrounds when I lived in DC because I didn’t have kids. But we just visited Chicago with a two year old and there were two great playgrounds within a couples. We went several times over the long weekend.
Hallmark movie where a burly dude goes to visit his high school girlfriend in her apartment in the big city and... really likes it? Oh my god have you guys tried Ethiopian food?
On the one hand, it would be good for all the republicans to understand how cool the cities are. On the other they already do and they’re lying; but also we kind of don’t want any of these losers anywhere near our cool stuff.
This is actually a pretty brilliant idea.
The left is filthy with bored creative types, George Soros needs to hand out the $80K it would take to film like eight of these scripts
Bringing back RomComs but they're all secretly pro-urban propaganda. Handsome guy goes to the city for a weekend and finds out it's way cooler to have museums, restaurants and liberated women than a tradwife. ... I think I just invented Old School from first principles.
We need to tax the living hell out of the rich people and businesses in every city in the country. Because it is not nice to have a young family in the city right now. It is not nice to pick up needles at the playground before your kids play.
It is not nice to tell an old man to stop smoking a cig on the subway next to your kids in a stroller. Or to be playing with 2 of your kids on one side of a playground and look to see a completely drunk man playing airplane with your 3rd. Chipping her teeth while helping her drink from the fountain.
There is a TON of antisocial behavior going on in public places that could be addressed with pocket change in the city budget but there is no will to do so.
At least the Rockefellers thought they needed public investment into burnish their image and instead all our overlords are wasting their money on virtual spaces.
About three weeks ago we took our son to his first concert in downtown San Francisco. We're walking around late at night as a family. Stopping off for dinner, ice cream, it's just kind of boring. But who wants to put their family up on the internet, they doxed, & some weirdo shows up at their house.
Yeah it's why I don't do it! At lunchtime I went to the library and there was a concert for kids out front and I thought "oh this is just what I was talking about" but I didn't want to put those kids on the Internet. But some parents have opted in to that and they should evangelize.
Turning homeless people into mailboxes also works.
I’ve literally been thinking about doing this
He's our strongest soldier www.tiktok.com/@snotwurst/v...
This guy has a girlfriend, a husband, a wife and at least 7 side pieces as far as I can tell. He also just dropped about $25K on the weekend.
The marg towers will continue until morale improves
If you're good and you defeat fascism we can go to the Museum of Ice Cream.
The marg tower just got 5 feet taller
Chicago’s actually… pretty dope
My friends are the craziest
Man I don’t know if I could handle a day like that, even when I was 28. That guy is built different
Yeah. That's like 6 months of weekends hosting out of towners for me. I'd be dead after the first brunch and marg tower.
That Zathura board game he played is a lot of fun to play with kids
And making fun of people pushing the panics. “Is the little baby afraid of seeing all the big adults stomp-stomp-stomping around?”
Retirees talking about how great it is to walk to their doctor’s appointments and take their grandchildren to the children’s museum!
My parents just moved to a mid-sized city from the small town I grew up in. My dad loves talking about all the places they can walk to!
This is the dream, honestly. Who the fuck wants to mow a lawn forever?
I don’t want to mow my lawn ever. I do it, begrudgingly, but I never want to.
If I stretch out my arms I can touch both sides of the front lawn and I loathe every single inch.
I found my people, only reason I do it is the HOA will fine us. (Front yard is tiny so not too bad. )
Fine I’ll make my insta public
