His positions on Israel have been very mainstream but that is not going to be good enough for the left.

I think there's gonna be some shifting, seeing it already. He at least called for defunding Israel while this bullshit is going on, which is more than a number have done.
I like him a lot, don’t get me wrong. But I am deeply dubious they will accept an actual Jew with a longstanding commitment to Israel unless he does a complete 180 and even then they will be mistrustful.
Is there any Dem with an actual chance to win the nomination that they would trust or embrace? Serious question. I think we've lot a lot of ground trying futilely to gain traction with the left.
AOC maybe?
Maybe. But there are already signs of them turning on her, because she was a quick and adept student of politics. I like her a lot.
AOC was denied access to the Columbia protests for “being a Zionist.” Seriously. Google it. Zionist in this case meant working with Biden on non-Israel related issues.
Even Mamdani, who's mostly still a darling on here--across the board, I hasten to add, I think he seems fantastic--just carefully but publicly disclaimed the DSA national platform (on grounds of "I do NYC, not my table sorry); I expect he'll be another traitor to the Cause before the end of this.
oh I believe it. She got a lot of people yelling at her on here for that ridiculous bullshit with MTG and that bill. Performative shit, and now she doesn't come around here anymore. they are insufferable.
Yes, I wasn't closely following the details, but I was aware that she had been declared unclean for some infraction or other.
I can deal with Mamdani having been Uncommitted, despite being nearly incandescent at people who flat out refused to vote for Harris and STILL defend that, blaming Harris and the Dems and taking zero responsibility for the outcome while also wanting credit for taking a meaningful stance: pick one.
I'm not making up that definition of Zionist either. Admittedly it was mainly Khymani James who was doing that and he was temporarily removed as a spokespeep.
I respect her more than I used to. She’s growing into the job and learning to be effective. Ideally I would like to see her move up to the Senate next.
I'd LOVE to see her replace Schumer. A run for president now is very premature in my opinion.
