Noooo I'm sorry. Autistics too. Absolutely stupid load of old shit. Hope you can rest a lot and that you and your missus recover quickly.

Oh yeah, discovered that too. When they said asthma meant no covid jab last winter*, I mentioned the then recent autism diagnosis when they asked about other potential reasons for getting one and they gave me it there on the spot. Wonder what it'll be like this time *Clearly has worn off by now. 🥲

Last time I had covid was about 5 weeks after my then-NHS jab. It was horrible, which makes me wonder what it would have been like if I'd not had the booster. I've paid the last two times because autism doesn't count now apparently. Bullshit innit. Do rest up as much as you can both of you ♥️

Aw, thanks. ❤️ But aw man. Even in 20/21/22, I'd get the flu jab the NHS told me to get as a 'vulnerable' asthmatic, while not being able to get the Covid one. So arbitrary, made no sense and was stressful. 🫠 (I very much appreciated @profaliceroberts.bsky.social loudly calling it out at the time!)

I do wish they’d let us choose whether to have it. Covid itself always lays me low - and we asthmatics know very well how our asthma is affected by respiratory viruses. I’d rather have an annual booster than run the gauntlet of Covid infection.

I sympathise with those who catch Covid, especially if you have additional problems such as asthma. I seem to be one of the rare lucky ones that have a natural resistance to the disease.

I can’t even see how restricting vaccination can possibly be cost effective. They’re stupidly expensive privately but they only cost the NHS about £5 a dose!

I'd much rather get the covid free and have to pay for flu than vice versa!

Just had covid (3 weeks of it) but because my asthma is not classed as severe, I don't get the covid booster jab. I first had Covid in March 2020 which transformed my asthma from mild to more severe (stayed so ever since)... and just got the invite for the flu jab ... because I'm asthmatic!!!

I totally agree with you Alice, I have my boosters every year due to me having a very low immune system, with having CLL

Exactly. I genuinely don't understand how one respiratory virus is deemed appropriate to get given to us on the NHS, while the other one - the one that shut down the world not five years ago - is just a lottery or not. And gauntlet is definitely the right word. Different symptoms everyday, it feels
