#truthinteaching is a real problem. It is made worse by selective cherry picking when it comes to history. I say that as a former educator. An honest look at history, which is NEVER done, might have made a difference in previous referenda. That wouldn't have helped the wealthy corruptors.

The idea of balance is often pushed in education but it’s of limited value. Address slavery and empire you really don’t need to do the pro slavery slot. Not all arguments are of equal worth. Ignoring mass murder isn’t impartiality.

In the trust I work for, a member of staff was disciplined for referring to Greta Thunberg as a role model, and all teachers in the trust were told afterwards to remain impartial on the topic of climate change.
