I remember going to the mall like 10 years ago and thinking "huh, so Spencer's, Hot Topic, FYE, and Gamestop are all just Funko Pop stores now".

I saw them when I went to an amc movie theater recently
Yeah they have a row of Funko Pops at most cinema concession stands in Toronto along with the candy bars
That seems kind of.. ridiculous?
And last time they had marked down the Funko Pops they still had for “The Marvels” and still no takers
Honestly I've never understand the appeal of those stupid things they're dumb looking and you can't do anything with them so like what's the purpose? They don't even really look all that much like whatever they're supposed to look like
Lol those things have been sitting there for like 2 years now then
It’s very funny
the local game store i play MTG at has had a wall of discounted funko pops for at least a year now. those things have absolutely tanked.
I don’t get it because they had a whole line of Fantastic Four First Steps Funko Pops, who the hell is still buying this shit in 2025
Even saying the words “Funko Pops” or seeing those words is so deeply embarrassing
It's just Beanie Babies all over again
Lol right
The subreddit is very active but it’s mostly complaining.A lot of these guys probably moved on to popcorn buckets
yeah idk, i'm pretty sure the company doesn't make anything else, so they're likely just desperately continuing to pump them out in hopes of a comeback
Glomming onto every new cultural touchstone hoping this is the one that brings them back
They seem like the most worthless things in the world to me and after mining their forums and subreddits I’m starting to feel like I was too mean to the action figures guys because at least they are posable
What I really don't get about them is that they're just so ugly, with the beady eyes and the generic, creepy expressionless faces. At least some action figures have really nice sculpts.
At the mall near my house there are at least 4 stores that have a wall of Funko Pops but I’ve never in my life witnessed someone actually buying one
The economy is like 90% Beanie Babies now and that’s fine.
There's a store at least one in the city I live in that basically all they sell is those fucking things and somehow they've been in business for like 4 years now
Knowing they exist to get around likeness rights is so uuuuuugh
