Probably should have known the move would always happen last minute with almost nothing prepared. Just frantically jamming important paperwork in bags while packers are boxing up everything around me. Feel like I’m fleeing to join a government-in-exile.

When I moved, I packed for months and there was still last minute box-stuffing. It is always later than you think it is.
Getting the last remnants out of my old rental house really felt like emergency evacuation, but I just kept finding more things. That's when you just start throwing stuff into garbage bags and will sort it out later.* *3-5 years later
I'm pretty sure that the last time we moved, the only things we had 100% packed was the books.
A long time ago, when I was taking a psychology class, we looked at a list of the top 20 most stressful life events. Moving was in the top five with stuff like divorce and death of a loved one. Good luck today! Take a lot of deep breaths and pop some extra anxiety medication, if it’s handy.
