There have been crappy people in EVERY generation since the beginning of time, right up to now. Were/are there appalling Boomer parents? Sure. And some Boomers blamed THEIR parents. And Gen Alpha will blame you. But it's always been lazy thinking to tar everyone with the same brush.

The problem isn’t just the GOP though. It’s the millions of people who don’t give a shit and would rather worry about selling their house they bought for 80k in the 1970s for 2.2million to the struggling young family who are trying to pay their student loans.

I think you'll find that MANY of the people who didn't bother to vote are not Boomers. And your assumption that Boomers are all sitting on piles of riches would be laughable if the truth weren't so sad. Yes, some benefited from low house costs but they didn't set the new high prices.

I'm 65. I've been married twice, had a house each time, which were sold after divorces. I now live in a 200 sq. ft. studio apartment whose rent goes up every year. My Social Security is a $1023 a month after paying for Medicare (without meds.) When my 401K runs out, suicide is my only choice.

I do understand where you're coming from, having been your age, while you have never been mine. And, yes, it's natural to defend the generation to which I belong when being unjustly attacked. We lived through some seriously sucky times too, stop thinking you're the only ones who got screwed.

Yes, I've experienced the world lately. It sucks. And, aside from Trump, those causing it are Musk, Thiel, and Steven Miller, none of whom are Boomers. Boomers were the hippies and activists who brought about Civil Rights, Women's Lib, and LGBTQ rights, and saved the environment in the 60s-70s.

I’m not sure it’s necessarily our boomer parents’ fault, but there’s a lot of anger about being raised to think we lived in one kind of world only to find out it’s not actually true.
