It's not about that. The problem is kids seeing very inappropriate content.

teenagers have been acquiring porn since before computers existed. no matter how much of a surveillance state you create, teenagers will find and look at porn -- whether that's online via shady sites that don't follow the law or via in-person black markets.
It’s not a question of a binary, it’s a question of degree
yes, now they're all going to go to the super shady sites that won't require ID and are full of the most extreme stuff out there! a massive win for surveillance states!
I agree this is a horrific policy, but you keep moving the goalposts - it remains a problem even in the status quo
That’s basically already the case lol
It's not the ones seeking it out It's the ones stumbling on it or having algorithms surface it in their feed. You're so not seeing the point of this.
so, this law does literally nothing to prevent that! almost all searches and social media have filters for obscene material enabled by default anyway. anything slipping through those filters before the law will be doing so after it.

I completely agree with you lol, we’re saying the same thing
Are you a parent?
how's that relevant? we have all been teenagers. the reason your kids are weird about women is not porn, it's shitty "alpha" influencers. a problem that this notably does not solve in the slightest
This is about 6,7,8 year olds not teens.
what is inappropriate content and who decides for everyone?
