The only way there will be consequences is if we all get off our collective asses and start gathering up voters and candidates for midterms. Run candidates in EVERY House election, even in "unwinnable" districts. We have to have a majority in the House, and 2/3rds of the Senate. 1/
The House can immediately declare that 1/6 was an Insurrection and pass laws to codify the Insurrection Act. Then declare every single 1/6 participant unfit for office. Then impeach Trump and Vance. 2/2
We have to stop depending on corrupted institutions to save us. This includes elections that can easily be rigged in their favor. Does anyone really believe they will allow the midterms to go the way of the Democrats to get a large enough majority in both houses to impeach AND convict?
How do we, the public, effectively protect our elections if we can’t rely on our elected representatives to do anything? This is a recipe for revolution. I’m not calling for that but if we have no representation this is the environment that fosters rebellion. It’s getting really ugly in America.
Well, it boils down to this. Do you still believe in America? Do you believe in the Constitution as the living, beating, heart of America?
I think it’s more do we believe our representatives believe in America and the constitution.
They are OUR representatives. If we don't believe in America, we can't expect them to. If we do believe in America, we have to believe HARD and convince people it's worth voting for. We've gradually picked away at the foundations and the house is crumbling. We've got to shore that up.
