There is something incredibly special about listening in the next room as your daughter sings the same lullaby to your grandchild that you sang to her.
There is something incredibly special about listening in the next room as your daughter sings the same lullaby to your grandchild that you sang to her.
My husband and I were visiting my daughter in Minnesota earlier this week and I wish that I could bottle the feeling within me when my four-year-old granddaughter is singing in her room, oblivious to the world around her. I miss this feeling the most from life with children.
This is all I want out of life. To have children, raise them, and watch them have children of their own. I sometimes think that future is beyond reach now, sadly.
My daughter doesn't have children, so my proudest moment came during a conversation I had with her. During it, she used the word "hence". I'm the only one in her circle of family and friends that uses that word, so it let me know that she listens to me. Xo! Enjoy that special moment!

Maybe this prods Trump into beefing up our supplies to Ukraine.
After graduating from college I remained friendly with a few of my professors, and one of them told me, "One of the unexpected joys of being a grandparent is seeing your son be a parent to his own child." That stayed with me.
💯 % agree. Seeing my son with his daughter and how wonderful he is with her is a gift. So much love between them.
I don't have kids (which is fine with me), but isn't that a beautiful thought?
We all need that lullaby right now.
I'm not crying, you're crying.
Does an author need an agent to present a manuscript to you?
That is a spectacular way to end my evening. Thank you Claire!!
💕
That’s sweet

A world in which Putin defeats Ukraine is one where the U.S.’s standing in the world is diminished, where Iran and North Korea are emboldened, where China dominates the Indo-Pacific, where the Middle East becomes more unstable.” -Fiona Hill, former White House Russia expert

Life cycles…..
This 💕💕💕💕
Love your post!
Oh yes Claire.
This is so wholesome omg. 🥰
Absolutely. It'll melt your heart
Beautiful
My bff just sent me a video of herself and her daughter singing their family lullaby together to new baby daughter/granddaughter. Both voice majors- sing in harmony.
❤️❤️❤️
I’m so very happy for you. I was a very new attorney and assistant prosecutor under Al Reiderer when you were on the legislature and had that daughter. I was the one who demonstrated that Al’s Macintosh computer system was interoperable with the existing county computers for you during your review
Wow. That brings back memories. Hope you are well.
I contracted Covid-19 in October 2020. I was bed bound & cared for in a skilled nursing facility until 2/22 when I became an assisted living client; but, since this video I have been diagnosed & treated for severe post-covid asthma & OCSA. Life changing Tx! Expect to be independent by December!
That’s beautiful
It makes me sad to know we HAD a Senator from Missouri with intelligence, compassion, empathy and a lifetime commitment to making life better for all of us. She was replaced by a Christofascist totalitarian who wants to kill us all.
@clairmar.bsky.social can I just say how much I love you? We're of similar vintage. I want you to be my neighbor so we can hang out, have a beer, and rant about the idiots in charge. If only WE were in charge!
❤️❤️ Wonderful
💙
It certainly is. I is so heartwarming
This just happened to me but with my son 🥰
💖
Also, hearing your child sing the lullaby you sang to them to your slightly younger child, especially when they only know about half the words and make up the rest.
💖
Echos of generations❤️
I sang the Beatles song Rocky Racoon to my children to help lull them into sleep. It’s the only song I could remember all of the words to. 😊 Please pardon my grammatical errors as I failed English in High School. ☮️
You're fine, if others don't like it..fuck 'em
Thank you, at least I sang to them. 😊☮️
Parenting win!! Woo hoo Mama!! 😀
One of God's special little gifts... 🧡
🥲I'm not crying
The circle is complete.
Yes it is ❤️
That is so sweet!
💛💛💛
I can relate. Though none of mine have reproduced, I have experienced them babysitting their younger cousins and singing “You are my Sunshine” while settling Infants (especially fun when it was my Daughter who shouldn’t remember me doing it to Her). 🫶🫶🫶
Treasure those moments, Claire.
❤️❤️❤️
🤗
Special, indeed!

And then when the little grandsons sing it to their baby sister💕
That’s lovely
Got ya right in the feels, didn't it?
For some reason I sang "Silent Night" as my son's lullaby--even in the middle of summer. When he has a child, I'd love to hear him do the same thing!
I spent probably 10 minutes lurking outside my 7yo son’s shower last night listening to him singing. It’s magical seeing and hearing your baby create art.
Very sweet indeed
Lovely! my mother was a coloratura. Sang arias to us as lullabies, including the Puccini... www.youtube.com/watch?v=l1C8...

Congratulations on your good fortune🩷
Another special thing I noticed about Claire; she uses the verb lie correctly. Why is this so hard for people!?!
