So, Dean George Tanaka, aka Dean Cain, thinks immigrant Superman is too woke. Mkay.
So, Dean George Tanaka, aka Dean Cain, thinks immigrant Superman is too woke. Mkay.
Well I still meet Christians who think any screen portrayal of Jesus that's not played by a Caucasian man is too woke.
You've met Megyn Kelly?! 😆 And not just a Caucasian, but a blonde-haired, blue-eyed Caucasian.
Israelites looked like that back then, right?
Yea Superman hasn’t changed- Dean Cain has swung so far towards fascism that Superman looks woke 🤔 you know who else hated Superman? The Nazis www.wearethemighty.com/mighty-histo...
See English translation of what actual Nazis had to say when Superman ended the war- research.calvin.edu/german-propa...
Literal worst Superman ever needs to be quiet.
I hope the next Superman is a story of how Superman realizes America is too bigoted a nation to deserve his services and he flies away to a country that still has a modicum of human decency.
This is why I have so much trouble with comics that used to comfort me. I have no trouble believing in an alien who gains godlike powers from the sun. I have a lot more trouble believing in an America that doesn't engineer a hundred flimsy reasons to hate him.
Americans would prefer Lex Luthor to Superman two-to-one, or worse.
30% of the population sure does. There's the third (us) who of course support Superman. The other third are clueless and 'saw something on TikTok about Lex and Superman and so I'm not sure who or what to think' and they're a big problem.
"Why doesn't Superman do more?" "Why does Superman do so much?" "Why is Superman always showing off?" "Why isn't Superman killing all the CEOs?" "Why isn't Superman killing all the gays?" And so on.
I could actually hear fictional voices saying those whiny things in my head. We are truly in the darkest/dumbest of times. Also, "why is everyone talking about Lex or Superman and not about..."
You got that right. Look, I can be a pretty dumb guy, but I am by no means stupid enough to foresee all the truly idiotic complaints people would come up with. But every one of their complaints would be rooted in, "how dare Superman be a better person than me?"
Why is that? What is this obsession with a horrifying dystopian future? I may be old fashioned but I like it when the good guys win! In reality it seems the bad guys always win more and the good guys are getting….tired, frustrated, fed up. Americans have a bloated and amoral Lex Luther already. 🙄
Indeed. Imagine how the whole Marvel series of films would have gone down in an already Trumpified United States. I mean certainly it had some themes commenting on political issues already (Winter Soldier) but its arc was mostly finished by the time 'he' came into office.
I wonder what drugs folks take because…..the delusion is real
Don't care what some old ass Nazi who had his heyday 30+ yrs ago has to say about shit.
I'd like to know why anyone thinks Dean Cain's opinion is necessary about anything.
all mediocre white dudes are convinced they are necessary and they are not.
He’s actually part Japanese, which makes it confusing why he’s against Superman being an immigrant, as well as Superman was born on a completely different planet.
Asian white adjacency is a hell of a drug.
Did he think his own Superman was born in Topeka?!
He’s an idiot. Most comics are “woke” bc it’s relatable. Lex Luthor is real. Senator Kelly from X Men is too. They represent real life villains. That’s what makes the stories compelling & that’s why we root for Superman. Dean is also triggered bc his Superman was the worst and everyone knows it
The worst and his career highlight. That's a combo!
HA exactly what a loser
Where was Superman born??? 🤔
Dean Cain is a worthless MAGA tool. I told him that to his face at Dallas Fan Expo. And no, I didn't get his autograph.
OMG, I just saw this. I just posted a very similar thing. Great minds.
Ugh why do people have to be like this—superman was ALWAYS not just an immigrant but an UNDOCUMENTED IMMIGRANT.
just checked his IMDB page and had a good laugh - looking forward to "Pickleball Pandemonium" and "Fugitive from Asteron"
🤣🤣🤣
Superman was born on Krypton. That makes him an immigrant.
Just like all of us!
Does he realize the Trump family were sued because they wouldn’t rent housing to people with names like Tanaka back in the day?
The worst Superman has thoughts.

Republicans are wetting themselves over this movie. It's hilarious.
That proximity to whiteness those folks crave is going to get them killed. I just saw another story about an Iranian woman detained by ICE who claims that the "good ones" will be released, she being one of them of course.
He’s so full of bs He played the Superman himself, obviously He also played a gay man in “The Broken Hearts Club” from 2000 (I actually enjoyed that movie) So he’s ok playing a character from another planet, let alone country, in one film and a gay man in another, but James Gunn is “too woke”? 🙄
😩
He played a racist on an episode of A Different World. I guess not much has changed since the 90's...
I remember that episode!
Ummm... whose Dean Cain again? Yeah, that part.
I've never understood why anyone likes him.
This just makes me even more excited to see the new movie this weekend.
Wait, he was a stealth Asian this whole time?????
That tracks. He’s been a mess forever.
FOR-ever
He played an odious character on an episode of #SVU and Scott Peterson in a Lifetime movie. Roles basically requiring him to just be himself.
Exactly. No acting required. 🤣🤣🤣
My friend & I were talking about the new Superman movie & I said that the only Superman I’ll accept is Christopher reeves. She said she like Cain & of course I had to tell her he’s a damn trumper. She said: that fucker
I thought Henry Cavill was a great Superman, but he wasn't given great movies to be in. Dean Cain is the only actor that should never be acknowledged as Superman because he's the living opposite of everything Superman stood for. I'm upset he played gay in "Broken Hearts Club". The hypocrite.
He’s a bit of a prat though. www.bbc.com/news/enterta...
He's been married for 24 years, so I'd hope he wasn't dating anyone...
He’s only 42. And he’s never been married. He’s been with his current partner since 2021.
And since Natalie is only 34 I would hope they haven’t been married for 24 years. 😂
Hmmm..8 year difference. Thats better 😆
Ugh. A victim of Google's "AI" search. Damn. Sorry.
No worries! It happens to all of us!
I hate AI so much. And Google Search has become so broken. I thought it was weird it said he'd been married since 2001 but just had a one year old child... should have double-checked. I hate having to google to see if the answer google gave me is correct or not.
I got tired of typing “-ai” on my google searches and just started using duckduckgo instead. So far AI is a big flop for me—the purpose od a search engine is to…er…search, not summarize or hallucinate an answer. AI is a waste of energy and brain cells.
It’s probably someone who looks like him. You know how every once in a while there will be two or three actors who look enough alike that you confuse them? 😆
I sometimes get him confused with this douchebag who has been married since 1996, so 29 years. 😂
I think his Jesus role has affected his ability to separate himself from the character. I often read or watch him joke about he's "Jesus" informally from playing him. Fuckin weird.
Jim Caviezel is certifiably insane, dangerously so.
I used to like him before he started hanging out with Mel Gibson.
Christ. Lmao
creeper eyes
I don’t find him particularly attractive. There’s something about him that makes me think he’s more caricature of what a handsome guy is supposed to be. I don’t know. I just kinda get the dick from him.
I’ve seen him in Brit shows from early in his career and they always had him as some preppy prat.
Seems they were fitting roles for him 😂
I don't usually play this game, but when it stands right up in your face like this: Cavil, v. to raise trivial and frivolous objection www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/c...
Didn’t know about that. I saw he dated someone quite young a few years ago and I was like “hmmm”. He was 32 at the time and she was 18 or 19. I can take him or leave him as an actor
Yeah, screw him. I hadn’t seen that before
Any man whose reaction to the Me Too movement was “Oh now I can’t date women” is a huge red flag. I’ve never been a fan. There was always something off about him. Then he said that. 😂
The biggest red flag. His first Superman was man of steel? Yeah, that was unwatchable & I never tried another one after that.
Cavill fused the Reeves...George and Christopher.
And Cavill is making the jump to the MCU so I’m down for that.
I just can’t get through DC movies, I don’t know why they’re all so bad 😂
Justice League was ok. I had such high hopes for Aquaman because. Well…Jason. But why are they so bad at CGI? The MCU mastered that shit a long time ago.
Same
They’re so bad at EVERYTHING. Writing, casting, effects; all of it. And they keep doing the same movies over and over. It’s all just Batman & Superman. Branch out, try something different.
The first "Aquaman" movie was fun (and super stupid). Like crazy over-the-top, I can't believe I'm seeing this kinda fun. But it doesn't hold up to re-watches, and the sequel was terrible.
It was so bad 😂
The problem with DC Studios is 100% on the parent company HBO/Warner Bros. For an example of where their leadership is, just look at how many times they've changed the name of their streaming service alone.
Marvel gets it right, pretty consistently. DC & Star Wars need to do an internship with them because both of those franchises are so bad at it
Star Wars got it right with Rogue One and Andor. And throw in season one of Mandalorian. But god, that sequel trilogy was the worst thing I've ever paid to see in theaters.
you know how in telephone, sh*t gets more and more f*cked up as it goes down the line and more people get to f*ck with it. yeaaah. there be that trilogy fans have been screaming for a KOTOR movie for years but I don't think they could do it right- too much back end Haus of Maus bullsh*t going on
Prequels were worse
And that dude that played Anakin was/is the worst actor on the planet
I didn't hate them but they had so much more potential. However, where I think they could have gone would have flipped out the white boys who already thought it was too woke. Not the prequels to the original trilogy?
Rogue one and the first season of Andor. They fucked that series up so badly forcing 4 seasons into 1. The second season was beyond disappointing. I will also toss Obi-Wan in the good series pile. Mandolorian was so damn boring, I call it the traveling show. 90% of the series is them going somewhere
I'm hoping James Gunn can fix that. DC Animation has been solid, but the movies have been meh. That Flash movie was terrible, tho.
I’m reminded of this line from the first Deadpool movie. “Don’t make the super suit green…or animated”
'that fucker' is standard for when Magas are referenced.
