I’d also love to see a modern take on the retro-gothic-deco style production design of TAS. All these big budget movies end up replacing their backgrounds and environments with CG anyway, might as well replace it with something interesting. Would lend to the more theatrical take I’m craving.

I really think tapping into Batman’s inherent theatricality and operatic nature in a modern way could be cool. Since dark knight it’s gotten more “serious” and grim in an effort to make it “realistic” and it’s time for something else. Imagine Sam rami in his prime. Have you seen dark man?
