💯. Can I add a corollary to that? The folks who go "I've been here for X generations and so I'm higher up in the hierarchy than you". Every non-Indigenous person (in Canada, Aus, NZ, USA) is ultimately of settler origin. Know your history and don't look down on others.

Most Black families in the US have been in America for much longer than many White families. Especially those non-British or French families. The only reason Black families have a hard time tracing it, is because of the 1870 brick wall, before which they didn't get counted in the census.
