What ever happened to parliamentarians being regular folks who chose to become statespersons to represent their communities? We have the right system to get back to that in Canada, but the wrong everything else.

Or, as in the story, Ticket to Tranai by Robert Sheckley, the President wears a medallion that will explode if enough people are dissatisfied with his performance! He can only remove the medallion if he can persuade someone else to put it on.

and imagine if every minimum wage worker has to work as a politician for a year. That would be so chaotic and either side of the coin would be a great story to explore.

Imagine if people tried to get out of it like jury duty

I've day dreamt about that many times. Also, every "x" years in office, they must serve a year on minimum wage ... so they never forget.
