£445 million over 10 years is chickenfeed and nowhere near the investment needed for creating a decent rail service for Wales, two Labour governments working together to shortchange Wales yet again.

£445m represents less than 3% of the spend allocated to rail for just 3 English regions. £15bn. Even then a good proportion of money allocated to North Wales is seating for Chester and the Liverpool - Wrexham line. Not to mention Ox- Camb, HS2 et al. The optics of this is awful.

This just isn't good enough. Wales is owed £4 billions in equivalent HS2 funding. Why are you not up in arms about this unfairness? Welsh Labour used to demand this money when the Tories were in power. What has changed? www.theguardian.com/commentisfre...

Presumably the North Wales “upgrade” is resignalling and electrification so I can’t see what the opposition are moaning about. It doesn’t happen overnight.

Lower Thames crossing is 1 London infrastructure project allocated £585m That eclipses the £445 allocated to the whole of Wales for all rail infrastructure spend for 10 years… Alternatively 3% of the total allocated to 3 English regions £15bn
